Austin Psych Fest returned to Carson Creek Ranch for its 8th annual festival on May 8 – 10, 2015.

2015 was a big year for LEVITATION. A few of our dreams came true, including having The 13th Floor Elevators on our stag – and for their 50th anniversary no less. The Jesus and Marcy Chain played “Psychocandy”, Primal Scream joined us after having canceled their appearance last year, and Tame Impala finally joined our list of performers. Minds were melted as Spiritualized, Thee Oh Sees, Fuzz, The Soft Moon, Chelsea Wolfe, Föllakzoid and many more performed to the 10,000 fans that had gathered for the weekend.

“It was a wet weekend, but that didn’t detract from the fun in Austin, Texas this weekend as fans of spacey wig-out sounds descended on Levitation presented by Austin Psych Fest for sets from the likes of Lightning Bolt, DIIV and, returning with new album material, Tame Impala. . .” – NME

“All in all, Levitation has again succeeded in giving us the gift of a transcendental music experience, so key to the diverse Austin tapestry of festivals, with visceral sounds set in a gorgeous, peaceful environment. The combination of old and new, established and innovative, is what has made Psych Fest once again a unique festival experience.” – QRO Magazine

“The atmosphere of Levitation is spectacularly halcyon. Whether you chalk it up to the measured curation, the time of the year, the management’s hands-off approach or the soothing balm of a weekend in nature, Levitation delivers in a most memorable way. Which is to say, if this year’s event is anything remotely like last year’s, you’re in for one hell of a good time.” – Jonathan Patrick, Dallas Observer

“My favorite thing about Austin Psych Fest (excuse me, Levitation) is the ability to wander around the overlapping sets and take in a little bit of everything. The lineup is always a mixture of artists known and unknown to me, so it’s fun to check out the bands who have come in from far-flung places to play.” – Austin360

“This is the coolest festival in America.” – Sean Ono Lennon, Ghost of a Sabertooth Tiger

“Austin’s importance as the breeding ground for psych is finally on people’s radars thanks to Levitation. – Eve Barlow, The Guardian

“It’s not Bonnaroo. It’s not Lollapalooza. And it’s not trying to be. The clear goal of Levitation is to celebrate psychedelic rock in its full range and history… From the location of the festival on the ranch, to the great people and music, this festival is a joy to be a part of. If you’re into psych rock, do yourself a favor and come out to Austin in May, because Levitation truly does the genre justice.= – Alfred Lentzsch, In Your Speakers.com
