Many thanks to our partners at Le Chabada, Radical Production and to the City of Angers, for the warm welcome back.

We were honored to host amazing performances from some of our favorite artists to a at-capacity crowd each night! Huge thanks to everyone who came out, we look forward to doing it again in 2016.

Check out a photos from the weekend by Fred Lombard / indiemusic.fr below, and also the official post-festival press release from the Levitation France partners. Look out for a video recap coming soon.

PRESS RELEASE

The 3rd edition LEVITATION FRANCE was held over the weekend in Angers, FR, marking another successful year. More than 2200 festival goers, coming from all other France, Europe and even Austin came for two days of music from the U.S., UK and Europe, with a lineup curated by team behind Levitation Austin.

The 2015 year brought another eclectic lineup of over 20 artists, including heavy rock titans The Melvins, Sweden’s Dungen playing their first show in France, UK post-punk legends Wire, The Brian Jonestown Massacre’s Anton Newcombe performing with new musical partner Tess Parks, acclaimed French artists like Flavien Berger and Melody’s Echo Chamber, Texas experimentalists Octopus Project and Indian Jewelry, and many more. During the week of the festival, the city of Angers had the opportunity to experience Texan culture thanks to AUSTIN WEEK, where Angevins and festival were invited to discover the culture of this uncommon city through exhibitions, movies, yoga and tattoo sessions, debates and culinary events with two chefs coming all the way from Austin.

As always, LEVITATION has demonstrated a unique cultural and artistic aesthetic, with an international approach. LEVITATION FRANCE is made possible through the connection between Angers and Austin, developed through collaboration between creative professionals from these two sister cities.
