Where it all began. Top of the top!

Cluster - Caramel
From their incredible album Zuckerzeit (Sugar time!) It was recorded in the countryside of Forst, Germany in 1974 using Farfisa instruments, a four-track recorder and an Elka Drummer drum machine.

The Beach Boys - Good Vibrations
An obvious one, but it’s undeniably one of the greatest. Carol Kaye’s bass on this track is unreal.

Ash Ra Tempel - Space - Power Drive
Timothy Leary got involved with the Cosmic Jokers and this is the result.

The Troggs - 66 5 4 3 2 1
Killer jangle and groove from this savage British group.

Mulatu Astatke - Kasalefkut-Hulu
Unique sounds from Ethiopia with incredible rhythm.

Harmonia - Watussi
More from Germany, this is essentially Cluster with the addition of NEU! guitarist Michael Rother. The sounds are so original.

Donovan - Turquoise
The power of Donovan in 1965.

CAN - Mother Sky (from Deep End)
Driving sounds by one of the best bands in Germany circa 1970. KrautRock in its finest form.

The Rolling Stones - Citadel
An excellent Stones track from the album “Her Satanic Majesties Request” which was their answer to The Beatles “SGT Pepper.”

The United States Of America - Cloud Song
The dreamy vocals of Dorothy Moskowitz and the musical adventure of Joseph Byrd circa 1967. A very fine example of pure analog recording.

Wolfgang Dauner - Raga
From his 1971 project Et Cetera. Another German masterpiece.
