LEVITATION is excited to announce the lineup and details for our official and unofficial SXSW events, and we are honored to be part of the largest and most important music event in the world. Regardless of the crowds, controversy, corporate sponsors and other points of contention, SXSW is an amazing gathering of music and creatives, large and small, from around the world. LEVITATION wouldn’t exist as we know it if it wasn’t for the fertile ground SXSW has helped create for ideas like ours to grow.
SXSW was an incubator for Austin Psych Fest in 2008 and 2009, before we moved to our own weekend in 2010. In 2012 we created a new event during SXSW, called LEVITATION, in homage to Austin’s legendary rock and roll innovators The 13th Floor Elevators. We liked the name so much we took it to France where we’re busy putting together our 3rd annual LEVITATION FRANCE in September 2015.
This year we’ve teamed up with our friends at Transmission Events to produce the 8th year of our flagship Austin festival, now called LEVITATION, where we’ll host The 13th Floor Elevators 50 Year Reunion along with an incredible array of our favorite bands from around the world. This weekend, March 13-14, we’ll celebrate the first annual LEVITATION CHICAGO, and we’ve just released the lineup for LEVITATION VANCOUVER coming up June 5-17 – can’t wait!

On March 18, on the grounds of the beautiful French Legation Museum – the oldest home in Austin – we’ll present an incredible lineup with our partners in LEVITATION FRANCE, Austin Angers Creative, at Le French Tech Club SXSW, a week long event which includes discussions and speakers, film, music and, of course, amazing French food!
FRENCH BISTRO – LEVITATION HAPPY HOURS – During this event from 1-7pm, The French Bistro popup restaurant will be offering special menu featuring a selection of small plates from $10-$20.
This is a unique chance to sample some of the food being made by the French chefs in the Bistro, including chef Rémi Fourier of Chez Rémi in Angers, France and his mentor chef Gérard Bossé of the Michelin-starred Une ÃŽle. We’re proud to release the lineup and details for our 4th annual SXSW event in the heart of East Austin at Hotel Vegas, including an official showcase and day party on Thursday, March 19. There will be a ton of amazing bands and we hope to see you there!

We’re honored to be working with one of our favorite record labels in the world to host their official showcase at night. This is an official SXSW showcase, but if you show up early you can get in with a small fee at the door. Last year was $5, so it should be something similar.

On Saturday, March 21st we’re headed to San Antonio, to celebrate the grand opening weekend of the Paper Tiger (formerly the White Rabbit), located at 2410 N. St. Mary. FREE ADMISSION.
